BISHOP UNMASKS HIMSELF showing what sort of avaricious person he is; what his ambitions are; and what his real colours are. He has started to show that his stretch of evil plans is not going to end with American College alone. His talons are growing further … when his attempts on our college are failing he has the audacity to extend his evil designs to our sister institution, LADY DOAK COLLEGE too.

The following is the set of resolutions the recent Executive Council of Madurai Ramnad Diocese passed under the very eminence of our bishop.

Res. 3/2008 – L – Collegiate Education

a. It has been reiterated that privatization of the American College and Lady Doak College can never be resorted to under any circumstances.

b. As the Synod is quite clear and consistent, to stop privatization of the educational institutions formed by Missionaries, the Moderator and the Deputy Moderator are taking strenuous efforts to negotiate with (!!)the American College, Lady Doak College, Madurai and Madras Women’s Christian College, Chennai so that they are not taken away from the structure of the Church by private individuals.

c. The members of the Committee strongly felt that the September Convention can be conducted at the American College premises as usual.

d. The bishop Iyah (!) uttered a word of caution that if the contention ‘that The American College is a Diocesan property’ is vehemently opposed, similar problems may erupt at later stage in respect of all other Diocesan colleges and institutions.

e. In view of the continuance of the false accusations from Prof. Solomon Pappiah, in the American College issue, the Committee resolved to proceed with legal action against him.

f. The committee unanimously appreciated the Bishop for his strong and bold venture* to hold grip of the American College within the Church precincts.
