On the very early morning of 29.10.11, after seeing the news item in The Hindu an alumnus gave me a tinkle. He was an old student for a few weeks in our college. He joined in B.Sc. (Math) and then left for an engineering college. He was ‘wonder struck’ after seeing that his erstwhile teacher has now become the Principal of our college.
He brought the news to me: “Sir, did you see the news about our college in the daily?’
‘No’pa. I am yet to open the paper.’
‘There is a news item about our college. Mr. so and so has become the Principal of our college, Sir’.
‘mm ..m ..’
‘So even people who failed in X Std, +2 exams can become Principal of our college like this!”, he wondered.
‘Hey! I don’t know such secrets. That sounds very interesting!’

But soon there was another call. This was from one another faculty still in the college. I shared the info I got with him. Fellow simply laughed so loudly and said very casually, “Man, you want one another good info? His first appointment was in a matric school. Worked there for a very short time and was sacked for his “super efficiency” as a great teacher. Then he started his ‘teaching service’ in another college in town before joining our college.”
