Sub: Request for information under RTI Act 2005 - regarding.
I give below the information requested by you under RTI Act.
[Q1A: What is the name of the person who is presently the Principal & Secretary of The American College?
Q1B: If there is any proper order in the above regard please furnish a copy.]
Answer 1A: It was informed to us that one Dr. R. Mohan was appointed as Principal-in-charge of The American College through the letter of Rt.Rev. A. Christopher Asir, President, American College Governing Council.
Answer 1B: The appointment order/approval order for principal-in-charge is NOT issued by the office.
[Q2: Large part of the college are found closed. Classes do not happen. Education of students is affected. When will the college start functioning?]
Answer 2: Under RTI Act, only information can be supplied. Opinions cannot be furnished in this regard.
[Q3: It is reported in News Papers that the Tamil Nadu Government has appointed a High Level Committee under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary of TamilNadu to enquire and resolve the American College issue. Was the enquiry conducted? What are the conclusions of the enquiry? Give the details.]
[Q4: Who is presently running the adminstration of the American College?]
Answers to Q3 & Q4:
To resolve the issues that prevail in the American College the Government has issued a G.O No. (2D) 9 Higher Education (E2) Department dated 18.02.2011. As this problem is under scrutiny of the Government we are not in a position to answer these questions.
